David Dzidzienyo joined ASASP at the begining of the 2019-20 school year as our Member Service Specialist.

David comes to us with 20+ years of experience in community organizing and as a political/union strategist, with which he has an overwhelmingly successful track record. David began his union career working with AFSCME, District Council 20; where he served as a union organizer, political and staff representative. David played an integral role in strengthening AFSCME's political force and educating and mobilizing its membership. He was successful in leading the efforts to get legislation passed which provided some of the lowest-paid Union members an opportunity for advance- ment. In the labor movement, he has built a reputation for getting things done.

He has worked with many of our political officials throughout the DMV area. Having also worked successfully with educators throughout the DMV area to address some of the shortfalls within the educational system. In addition, David was solicited by community and government entities to assist with establishing and negotiating communi- ty/businesses agreements (CBAs) between residents and the local businesses; as well as, community benefits agree- ments between various developers, the community and government.

Previously, David worked for almost five years as the Director of Political and Legislative Affairs with Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO. There he managed many issues; legislative, political, membership, etc.

With David’s analytical skills, his proven ability to build coalitions, and nurture community and political relationships; I’m certain that he will be an asset to our organization.
